History of Phil Moore Park
Phil Moore Park is the largest of the Warren County Parks at a little over 174 acres. The Warren County Fiscal Court purchased this property in 1997 from Carol and Beth Upton and Clarice Dinwiddie. It was dedicated and renamed for former Warren County Parks Director Phil Moore in the spring of 2004.
Phil Moore Park is bordered by Drakes Creek, a tributary of Barren River. Park access to Drakes Creek provides opportunities for fishing and kayaking/canoeing access to patrons throughout the year. This park offers plenty of facilities including a gymnasium with high school regulation size court (or two middle school size courts), a baseball/softball complex with two fields, cross-country trail, picnic/playground area, and the Kiwanis Soap Box Derby Track.
